2016... Looking back!
It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end of 2016... looking back at the year a lot has happened!
Celebrating our 30th Birthday!
2016 marked our 30th year of trading. Not only did this make us feel rather old, but also thankful that our small business has been able to support our two families over the past 3 decades - from nappies to university fees!
1986 was certainly a very different place to retail compared to todays markets. Sadly, it is a well known fact that the footfall in town centres has declined and those customers are now shopping elsewhere. We never imagined that the internet would become such a huge part of the business. This side is very much left to the Earland Sisters-in-Law, Alison and Rachel. May 2016 saw us launch onto the Amazon market place, a competitive but rewarding addition to our business. Whether retailing or online our business ethic remains the same, we always try to provide a fantastic selection of products at competitive prices backed up with 30 years of knowledge.
New Website
During the summer Lucy (2nd of 5 Earland children) developed our new website, a much needed overhaul and the end result was a fresh and current look with full e-commerce facilities. Lucy now micro manages the site from Cambridge where she is on her University work placement. Thank you Lucy for your help and weekly updates on how the site is performing, an extra special present from Santa for you this year!
What a year it has been! We would like to thank all of our new and old customers for supporting us in 2016. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2017!
Maybe these could be a new line for us? We would definitely need some different models though!
